Summer is rockin' and rollin' right along as we draw ever closer to our new adventure in Guatemala. I can't believe it is a scant... uh... 3 weeks away? Is that right? I don't even really know. What a nice change from the heart-sickening countdown to our return to China last year! I know we will be leaving soon and I'm super-excited. But I'm not counting the moments. I'm living in the moment as much as I can- thank you Rachel.
Speaking of, Rachel, Shannon and I just took a quick jaunt down to Miami this week. Rachel was auditioning for a reality show so Shannon and I rode with her. Shannon and I left Monday at noon-ish, met up with Rachel in Cordele around 4ish and drove until the wee hours of Tuesday morning to Miami. The audition started at 10am so Rachel and Shannon were there at 8am (I had class for Auburn so I had to stay in the hotel room). They were back by 11:30 (Rachel was cut by a someone who obviously had no idea what she was doing!), we went to lunch at Hooters on the bay and were back in the car, driving home, by 6:30pm. I was home by 6am Wednesday morning and, needless to say, I am still recovering. It was, however, one of the best trips ever! I am so glad we went and I am so proud that Rachel can always see the silver lining. Inspiring really.
Nick Horsely just left us this morning. He was visiting for a week and, let's just say, the motto of the week was (spoken by Nick), "It's my fault." Truthfully, the boys kept themselves out of too much trouble though. Well, as far as I know.
So now we're heading towards the end of summer. Here's what we have left to do:
- Two receptions for Andrea and Kyle
- Dave goes to Philly for a wedding
- RASCAL FLATTS!!!! (This is my anniversary present!)
- More hanging out with my friends and family
- Shots for the dogs so we can take them with us
- Recertification for Kelli
I'm sure there's more. I've probably just blocked it.
Add the DeNeef's to your following list - though don't know how much China will allow us to keep up. Heading to Vegas today. Will put 20 on red for Dave.
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed a very good trip! My girls made it totally awesome. And that lade really had no idea what she was doing - that lady was an elementary school teacher!?!? Why was she judging art?
ReplyDeleteI had a blast with you Kelli - as always! Big Hugs - I miss you already! Much love!
